Rubbermaid Easy FInd Lids

I love this Rubbermaid set. I was able to clear out my old stuff and give it to Tony. I now have my Rubbermaid in the drawer all neat and tidy. Oh yea and it is the right color to keep me happy! PURPLE! The lids all fit together and so so the containers. I love it and this was only $10.00 at Walmart. I even found a coupon to save $1.00 off any set!

Starfish Dance

The Starfish Story

adapted from The Star Thrower
by Loren Eiseley (1907 - 1977)

Once upon a time, there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work.

One day, as he was walking along the shore, he looked down the beach and saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself at the thought of someone who would dance to the day, and so, he walked faster to catch up.

As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, and that what he was doing was not dancing at all. The young man was reaching down to the shore, picking up small objects, and throwing them into the ocean.

He came closer still and called out "Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?"

The young man paused, looked up, and replied "Throwing starfish into the ocean."

"I must ask, then, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?" asked the somewhat startled wise man.

To this, the young man replied, "The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don't throw them in, they'll die."

Upon hearing this, the wise man commented, "But, young man, do you not realize that there are miles and miles of beach and there are starfish all along every mile? You can't possibly make a difference!"

At this, the young man bent down, picked up yet another starfish, and threw it into the ocean. As it met the water, he said, "It made a difference for that one."

This story has appeared all over the web in various forms, usually with no credit given to Mr. Eiseley. Sometimes it is a little girl throwing the starfish into the ocean, sometimes a young man, once even an elderly Indian. In any form it is a beautiful story and one that makes you think.

Loren Eiseley was a anthropologist who wrote extensively. He was the 'wise man' in the story, and he was walking along a beach after a storm and encountered the fellow throwing the starfish back. I have not had a chance to read the original book yet myself but will post more background info here after I do.

Saturday

Things here just never seem to change. I am still stressing over dealing with Robert. I mean I am not dealing with him but we do live in the same house. He will clean up his messes and do his chores. I will not do anything for him other then Dr. appointments and counseling appointments. I will be not be available to pick him up at school on the days he is in trouble. He can sit in the office all day now or they can call his Father. Stick a fork in me I am done.
Megan is still fighting food and her meds. She seems to fight more if someone is here with me. I just use my stern voice and she takes her pills or will take a bite of food. If Daddy or Rena or anyone else tires to feed her or get her to mind she refuses. They all use soft sweet voices and Megan ignores them. Oh yea then Daddy gets mad, stomps off cussing. *geesh* I have been the one to be puked on for the last what 2 weeks?
I am so ready for school to start up. I keep chanting Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday. I will miss Megan and her goofiness but will not miss Robert at all. Sunday we have Church and then Jason is working. Or he might be working and not going to Church but I will go if the PCA shows up. Then when I get home Megan and I will go to the mall.
Monday I have nothing planned as of yet. I will make sure Megan's clothing is ready for school on Wednesday.
Tuesday Megan has a Doctors appointment at 11:30. I have to take Robert to his first counseling session then at 2:00 I believe. Robert is going to have to come with us because I will not be going back home that day. When he is in his meeting I will take Rena and Megan shopping for a short time at a thrift store. After Robert's counseling session that is an hour we will go up the hill to Goodwill and to The Salvation Army. I might stop at Michael's and Joann's as well while I am out. I am going to stay gone as long as I can just to ruin his day. Oh and he will have to be in early that night being as the next day is school!
Then come Wednesday and the kids are in school! I am free and I am happy!

Bon Jour

Heck I am not sure what to say right now. It is a lovely day here in Orting. I am sitting at my computer in my room with the window open and a nice warm breeze flowing in. The cat is sitting in the window still looking outside. She loves to sit there and watch the outside world.
I have been posting stuff on Craigslist today. The servers are down right now so I am kind of stuck. I decided to post here a bit. I also got a load of clothing in the dryer right now. I love the smell of fresh laundry.
I have CD by Diane Birch on. She has a beautiful voice. She is a folk singer but has more of an updated sound. I did a review of this CD a while ago for Oxygen I believe it was. It is very up lifting and happy. It is just the sound I need right now to keep me sane.
I am still having major anger at Robert for his lies. I have prayed for understanding, comfort, forgiveness, etc. I am wanting to hold on to my anger. I have done so much for this ungrateful child and I keep getting treated like a pile of poop. How he could say I punched him in the face. I have never punched anyone in the face! I have never threatened his life! I still have not got to tell Jason what was said.
Jason has been in a nasty mood the last few days as well. He comes home late from side jobs after dinner has sat for 2 hours. No call home to tell me he willl be late. When I try and talk he tunes me out. He wants to relax and not hear any complaints over Robert. He says Robert calls him all day to complain about me. Huh? Robert is never here to fight with me. He gets mad if I say no one at the house when I am not there. He gets mad when I say no to his music and no to hurting the pets. He gets mad when I remind him of his chores. He gets mad when I point out he ate 3/4 of the rack of ribs and I ended up with none and his Dad got what was left. He gets mad when I wont take him places or buy him stuff. Guess what Lil man? You made your bed you lie in it.
Tonight for dinner I am making chicken nuggets and will add teriyaki sauce to cover them and I will add mixed vegetables to them and have a kind of Chinese food. I will also have rice with it.
Well I am back to posting stuff for sale so hope yuou all have a blessed day!

Do I want this job?

There is a local lady looking for child care for her 3 month old and her 2 1/2 year old. I love those ages! She needs someone from 7 to 4 Monday, Wednesday and Friday. She is not yet sure about Tuesdays or Thursdays. I will possibly be watching a friends boy 2 days a week. I love kids and miss being around them. My only issue is the first lady is just able to pay $20.00 a day. 9 hours of child care for $20.00 for 2 kids? The nice thing is she can bring them to my home. I am home most of the time as it is. So now I have to pray about it and see where God leads me.

Go check out this blog from Confessions of a Psychotic Housewife

I have a blog you all need to read. This lady is crazy and fun! She has loads of ideas and today is having a givaway! You knowme and my freebies and my samples and such. This lady makes me look like a newbie!

Random Thoughts

I was in the chat room today and people were freaking out over a *missing* chatter. Believe it or not people do get busy with life! People were iming this missing chatter and so worried. Guess what?? She has a life! She is busy with day to day activities! Geesh it is funny how some were acting so worried.
Tonight I am making cheese ravioli's with red sauce. I will bake some Texas Garlic Toast as well. I have not decided on what vegetable to have yet. I would love broccoli or asparagus but we are out of both. I do not feel like having green beans or corn. I have a package of brussel sprouts but gag they are rank.
School starts on Tuesday here. I am so thankful for it to start. I have have demon child under foot since January. I have not been left alone in over 7 month. I love to have the house to myself. I love to sneak in a nap naked and not worry about someone walking in. I love to have my quiet time to read my bible or do my bible studies. I love to be able to clean house and play my music LOUD. I love to rock out to Phantom of the Opera.
I will slowly be starting on Christmas gifts when school is back in. I will have my house spotless by the end of September. I plan on starting a walking routine. I plan on making weekly menus. I want to be organized! I want to be free to do what I want when I want!

In the end I guess you could say I paid .23 cents for two 4 packs of the Fiber One yogurt.

Fantabolous Freebies

I went to the mall today with Megan to work on some of my freebies.I love to see how cheap I can get stuff for it is like a high for me. At times I think I need freebie anonymous.

We started off at Target and did a return. It was partially on a gift card that I no longer had and part cash so I said just give me a new gift card and that will work.

Then we headed on down to Victoria's secret where I had 2 coupons for free trial size lotion. I got one for me and one for Megan. There is a reason I take her with me!

We then went over to Bath & Body Works. I had more coupons to use there as well. I bought 5 hand soaps in Kitchen Lemon *orgasmic scent* to me. I am like addicted to washing my hands with this flavor. With the purchase of those at 5/$15.00 I was able to get a full size product for FREE. I chose a Warm Vanilla Sugar bubble bath that was $12.00 for FREE!

I also had a coupon for a FREE travel size item with any purchase. I bought a Pineapple Orchid votive candle for $1.50 and got a FREE lip gloss in Sheer Pink with a Cotton Candy flavor. That was $7.00 for FREE!

I bought another Pineapple Orchid votive candle for $1.50 and got a FREE 3 ounce travel size bottle of Cherry Blossom body spray with my FREE coupon. That was a $5.00 item for FREE!

I ended up spending $18.00 at Bath & Body Works however I was able to get $24.00 worth of items for FREE! The hand soap is usually $5.00 each but was on sale for $3.00 each. That sale saved me an additional $10.00. Not to bad if I say so myself!

I took Megan to lunch at Target after that being as I was getting wore out. Megan was hyper today and yelling and laughing the whole day. It is hard to push her wheel chair when she is rocking it all over the place! I had to keep asking her to lower her voice being as she was really loud!

After Megan and I enjoyed our soft pretzel with cheese sauce and a diet soda we took off to shop in Target! Do you know how hard it is to push an adult sized stroller with Megan in her happy mode and have her holding her soda? As well as holding a purse on the stroller and a red shopping basket? Hey I still rocked it and got some bargains!

There was the IAMS premium protection dog food for half price making it $5.48. I had 2 coupons one for $2.00 off and one for $1.00 off. I bought 2 bags of good dog food that is normally 21.96 for $7.96. Talk about a bargain!

I had coupons for BOGO on the SOBE water. Target has lowered the price to $1.02 here now. I found an endcap that had all the flavors of the 0 calorie brand and in 4 different flavors! 4 would of been $4.08 but I paid $2.04! Now I hope it is at least good tasting!

I had a coupon for a FREE box of Kashi Honey Sunshine cereal. Target here has it for $3.49 but it was FREE with my coupon!
Target would of cost me $29.53 however with my coupons I paid $10.00 not counting tax. I even used the gift card so I was not out any *real* money!

Why do kids have to grow up?

My *baby* is going to be 23 in about 8 weeks. I can not believe he is getting to be that age already. It was yesterday I think that I was changing his diapers and kissing his owies away. He has become a smart, honest, honorable young man. I am so proud of him!

I am so sad however. He is going on a trip to Vegas on his own! He will be gone from September 15th to the 17th. I know it is a short trip but it is one I had always wanted to take with him. A trip that I had always said we were going to do together. I was something that meant a lot to me to be able to do for and with him.

Finances have a way of changing the best laid plans I guess. I know not to count my chickens before they hatch but I was so sure there was going to be more money from Gramma's estate that I had planned to take Tony for a few days with that.

He is now going down when friends of his go. Sounds nice but the friends are married and he is going to be left out some I fear. I know he is a man but to me he is still my baby and he always will be.

I am the one he calls when he his heart has been broken. I am the one he called in tears when he messed up his first attempt at getting his license. I am the one he called the first time he got drunk and kept calling and calling and calling! I am the one he calls mama when he wants something. He is my Angelbaby my one and only.

He is my life, my heart, my breath, my soul. He is my Tony my special love.

Things I love

One of my favorite things that I *love* is my Bosch mixer. I have had it since my first marriage back in 1994. It has the beaters, the dough blade, some metal things to chop and shred as well as a blender. I actually have 2 blenders to go with it being as I found one at a garage sale for like 50 cents a few years ago. My parents paid a lot for it back in 1994 but it still works just as good as new. It may not be as pretty as it was when new but how many mixers last for over 25 years?

I*love* Huggable Hangers. They are those slim hangers with like a felt covering. They work amazing and allow so much more room in the closet. For a while I was into the wooden hangers but they are so bulky. I now have most of my clothing hanging on pink Huggable Hangers! I have some like you see in the picture and the others are just the hanger without the bottom bar part. I have to go with these clips to hang skirts and little hooks to hang the hangers on each other. I do that to the clothing that is not in season or is still to small for me to wear.

I love Aqua Globes. I have 2 sets of the large ones that came out originally and today I bought a set of the mini ones. I forget to water my pants all the time and these save them. I have a Pothos that was split into 3 parts after we moved here 3 years ago. It never quite recovered but now that they get water all the time it is amazing how well they are doing!
So for tonight those are my 3 favorite items that I have right now that I love!

This was one of my purchases today at Marshalls. I love to go to this store and buy perfumes. I am addicted to not only new scents but to cool looking bottles. This was on clearance for $3.00. I totally love the bottle it is just gorgeous! The scent at first I was not thrilled with but after 5 minutes I decided I really like it. Oh here is my advise for the day. DO NOT spray perfume in the van with the AC running! Yea lets just say it does not taste as nice as it smells!
I decided to get the *professional* description of this perfume being as it is hard for me to describe being as I am still eating it!
The fragrance is described as "...a refreshing, feminine floral. The top notes include syringa flower and mandarin; the heart lily, orchid, peony and cactus blossom. The base is a blend of nectarine, heliotrope and musk".

Bargainless day today

I got up this morning and decided to go to town all alone! I love that little bit of freedom to look at what I want where I want as long as I want to. Well the PCA got here and then informed me she had to leave early today for a Doctors appointment. I wish she would of called me before she came being as I needed more time in town and it would of been easier to take Megan with me.

Oh well C'est la vie right?

I still decided to go to town. I went to Goodwill and found nothing! I mean really nothing was worth my money there today.

I then went to Rite Aid and found some potting soil for 75% off as well as a Burt's Bee's gift set for 75% off.

The gift set has a full size lip balm, *in a nice red*

.47 bottle of peppermint foot lotion,

1 ounce bottle of milk & honey lotion *smells like heaven*

.25 ounce radiance day cream with royal jelly

.30 ounce lemon butter cuticle creme

.30 ounce hand salve.
The picture is not the kit I got exactly but is pretty close to it. As soon as Miss Rena gets here I am going to town again to pay my Target bill and to look around a little bit.
I also went to The Salvation Army but found nothing there either. I stopped off at Macy's on the way home but I ran out of time to look at anything long enough to decide if I wanted it or not. I will post more later today when I get home if I find any bargains today!

Freebie!

I love Victoria's Secret even though I am still to fat to fit into the clothing. I adore the make up, lotions and colognes. I only buy the make up when it is on clearance for a good price. I am on the email list and have usually just deleted the emails and not read them. Today I read what the email said and I am glad I did!
It was an online coupon for $20.00 off any $20.00 purchase. I ended up with 4 eye shadows and a mascara on sale for $20.00. I was able to take off $20.00 and I ended up paying $8.25 for the tax and shipping! Not to bad of a deal if I say so myself!

Sleepy time

I thought this was to cute not to share. I am watching a friends kids for a couple of days. This is Andrew and he is five. We went to town and he wanted to ride in the car cart as Safeway. We were there about 15 minutes and he fell asleep just as I was checking out. Even a couple of people we passed on the way out thought it was cute and funny! Wow to e able to bend like that and sleep!

Blessings!

I am so excited! I just found out that our assistant Pastor has rescinded his resignation as of yesterday. After going home to Montana and praying with his wife they now feel as if the Lord wants them to stay here. He and his wife have been wonderful and I felt a connection to his wife from the day I met her and did not realizes she was the Assistant pastors wife. I am truly uplifted with this news and want to say THANK YOU JESUS!

Rock of Ages Review

This CD is one that I was lucky enough to be able to review. I grew up an 80s child and the music was just up my alley. When I first heard it I kept turning it off thinking how can I be nice about a CD I hate? I kept at it and WHAM! It hit me. This CD is amazingly wonderful and nostalgic. I had to get out of my 80s rocker mind and get into my Broadway hit mode! I am in love with this CD. I am *rocking out in my chair to the music and songs and singers. It is a great way to introduce our kids to our music! Now I have to let Santa know that I want to see this Broadway hit!

Flu Central

Hoping to post tomorrow have been down with the flu and a 102* fever. Getting ready to try some soup and toast and see how that settles. Megan had a touch of it as well. We got it from the PCA who was sick with it the last 2 days. Hoping to feel better soon. It was freaky how fast and hard it hit me.

Dropping Stuff

This is slowly getting worse for me. I am always dropping stuff and it is getting to be more often now. Last night it was a glass of ice water when I was sitting in my chair. This morning it was lunch meat or cheese I can't remember. I drop my Starbucks when I was buying that, my keys all the time, hair brush, etc. It is really getting irritating to me. I notice my right arm and shoulder is tingly almost like it is wanting to go to sleep or just waking up. It does not hurt just feels off.
Hubby said it could be carpel tunnel but there is no reason I would have that. So anyone have ideas what is going on with me? I will mention it to my Doctor when I go next week.

Prayers for Megan

As much as I love, adore, and cherish Megan I am so frustrated right now. I want to yell and scream and cry. I want to hit something or throw something to hear it shatter into millions of pieces.
Over the last few weeks Megan and learnt to make herself throw up. I am so sick of smelling like barf. I am stressed with not knowing if she has the flu and is honestly barfing or if it is just to get rid of her pills.
I have also been dealing with her fighting food. She never wants to eat anything and has lost a lot of weight. She looks fine where she is at but I do not want her to lose more weight. She will even swallow food and then within 2 minutes it is back up.
Tonight I went and gave her the final dosage of her medicine at 11 PM, she gagged at first on the liquid and the water but was fine. I then gave her the pills which she gagged and then swallowed. I gave her some water to make sure they were down and she was fine. I walked out the door and heard that sound. Urgleunkblat. All of her medicine came up I am sure as well as part of her dinner that I did get her to eat.
I will be calling the Neurologist first thing in the morning to see if her blood levels are back yet from last week. Something is going to have to change here. I can not keep dealing with barf every night and every few days as well. I am tired of having laundry non stop with barf or pee.
Oh yea I did not have help Saturday, Sunday or Monday. I loved not having people here however.... It was also a weekend when Megan decided to pee non stop. She even took her diaper off at one point and peed all over the bed. Thank the good Lord she did not have a bowel movement!I had her bedding going all weekend. I have 3 comforters for her bed and 3 sets of sheets. I was not able to keep up with it. I am sorry but having to change bedding 3 times in a day due to pee spills or barfing is making me go bonkers.
Hopefully I will have help tomorrow. I still need to get Mali's anal glands done and I need to pick up Robert's medicine at the doctors office. I also want to stop off at a Walmart and buy me a couple of flowers to plant and maybe a couple of new house plants.
Before I forget to tell you the picture is of my husband Jason and his Grandma Della. She is a lovely lady and always so gracious. She lives in California and her street is lined with these amazing purple flowering trees. The trees all smell so beautiful and they are like a dream. I guess everyone that lives there hates them because of the mess they make when the flowers fall. However to me they were lovely.
Della also has a tangerine tree in her front yard. I love to go to her house and attack the tree. I literally will eat fresh tangerines until I am sick. In the back of the house is a lemon tree and a grape fruit tree. I have not liked the lemons when I have had them and the grape fruit tree holds no interest to me. Oh but give me that sweet citrus of a tangerine and I am in bliss.
I told hubby if we ever move to California he will have to put me in the middle of an orange grove. I still remember driving home one spring or summer and I smelt this beautiful aroma. I was in heaven. I asked Jason what it was and he said it was the orange orchard to the side. He had to slow down and roll the windows down for me to inhale the aroma. How anyone could take the scent fro granted is beyond me. It truly is a gift from God.

Freebie Wednesday!

This is what I bought today along with a Sunday paper that I didn't take a picture of. What do you guess was my total cost?

Regular price is $5.99, sale price was $5.49. My price? The register took off $5.99 paying me .50 cents to buy this!

This was $3.99 my cost with coupon? FREE! It was a totally free coupon from one of my sites I belong to.

These were .89 cents each. Or for all 8 it would of been $7.12. It was a buy 2 get 2 free. I also had coupons for 4 free bars. My cost ended up being all 8 for free!

The dog food is normally .79 cents, sale price was .70 cents. I paid? Nothing! I got coupons out of the Sunday paper for these.

The ice cream was on sale with the store coupon for $1.99, the eggs with store coupon were $1.49, the butter with store coupon was $1.49 and that package of orange chicken sauce made by Panda Express? It was originally $5.99 here and was on clearance for .99 cents! It was the only orange chicken package they had left.
So my total cost for all of these items? $7.60 with tax.

Shopping and Returns

OK I had a few errands to run today and was happy that it was cooler then it has been.

My first trip was for the free Jack in the Box tacos. Megan, Rena and I each got 2 free tacos. I also bought Megan a hamburger deluxe. Amazingly she ate both tacos and the hamburger!

We then went to JCPennys to pay my credit card bill. I also looked around the store to see if there were any good buys. Clearance was 70% off the original price and Rena was able to get me an additional 20% with her former employee discount. I was happy I found 2 dresses and a pack of 3 socks for Megan. OK I am taking the dresses back. Fat women like me do not need to wear sundresses or dresses that look like a print for the 60s acid trips. I thought I could do it but uh uh uh uh no darn way.

I paid my credit card and told the lady I needed to pay five on my bill. She thought I was paying five hundred! I said no five dollars! That it was a little bill. Wow can not imagine spending that at JCPennys. *Wait yes I can and it would be fun!*

Next stop was Walmart for a return. I had another couple of items to return but I misplaced my receipt for now. I took back a hand brace that hubby bought and got back $12.99. I love to do his returns!

Final stop was Winco. I spent way more time in that place then I meant to. They had cantaloupes on sale 3/99 cents! I got nectarines for 99 cents as well. Laundry soap on sale and a lot of different fruits and veges. Bananas, onions, grapes, etc. I also bought me two Java Monsters and used my coupons on them. I have still not had Starbucks Carmel Macchitos in a while now. I really do miss those but hey I am learning to do without!

After spending way to much time in Winco it was time to go home! Yippie! My hernia at this point was really hurting me and lifting the stroller in and out of the van was hard this final time. Thank you Lord for my AC in the van!

I did stop and pick up my mail. I got the weekly ads as well as an envelope from Psttt. It has a coupon for a free Fiber One yogurt four pack and then 10 or so coupons for $1.35 off four packs. I gave Rena a couple of the coupons to try the yogurt. I will pick it up tomorrow so I can review it.

Tonight for dinner I am making sub sandwiches. I will used Tillamook cheese, lettuce, onions, cucumbers, deli sliced ham, pickles, mayonnaise and mustard. I will cut up one of the cantaloupes for dinner as well.

Last night for dinner I baked Oscar Mayer All Beef hot dogs and made a pack of Hamburger Helper Three Cheese Lasagna without the meat. I know I am weird but I love Hamburger Helper with no meat.
Tomorrow I am going to take Mali into Bonney Lake and get her anal glands excreted. I am going to also stop off at the Dr's. office and pick up Roberts Straterra. I will make a return to Target and if I find my Walmart receipt I will return the couple of items I have here as well. Mali will have to behave and sit in the van on her own. I will not be taking Megan tomorrow, it is faster to not have to deal with her.
I am not sure what else to blog or what else is new with me. Oh yes I do. I stopped off at The Salvation Army today but it was a bust. I was hoping to find a few dresses for Megan but nothing inspired me. I am thinking once school starts back up I will have more patience to look at stuff.

Ultimate Carrot Cake

1 box of carrot cake mix
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
1 8 ox can crushed pineapple in juice, undrained
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1.2 cup coconut
1/2 cup raisins
Heat oven to 350*, grease and flour pans or spray bottoms only with non stick spray. *Ooops*
In a large bowl beat cake mix. water, eggs and pineapple for 30 seconds on low, then medium for 2 minutes. Stir in nuts, coconut and raisins. Pour into pans.
Bake 8 inch rounds 36 to 40 minutes, 9 inch rounds 29 to 36 minutes, 13 X 9 inch 37 to 43 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Cool for 10 minutes. For rounds run a knife along the side of pans to loosen cake, remove from pans to cooling rack. Cool completely 1 hour and then frost and eat!
I will take a picture of the finished cake when it is done. However right now it is still cooking but the batter was so nummers!

Sunday

I just love that cute face! I mean who could resist that lil nose and cute eyes?
Jason and Robert are working today for a few hours. Megan is sleeping and I am sad. I am not sure what happened it just came over me. I want to sit down and cry. I was fine the morning and then boom!
The heat wave has passed AMEN! I am sorry but I am not used to 108* in Washington. I love to have all the windows and front and back doors open with a lovely breeze flowing through. No a/c running, no heater running just the wind.
Saturday night I took a package of frozen burritos and laid them in my 10X13 glass pan along with left over rice. I then added a can of green enchilada sauce, olives, and cheese. I baked it at 350* for about an hour or so. Talk about yummers! I added a dollop of sour cream to my serving and enjoyed.
Friday night I made pot stickers, rice, and Chung King Chicken Chow Mien. I was not as happy with the pot sticker sauce this time. It did not really have much of a taste. Hubby had me put the chow mien over his rice and then I tried it that way as well. It really was good. I even got the chow mien on clearance at Target for $2.30. The rice was $2.00 for the 2 packages I used. I paid $5.99 for the pot stickers but only used 1/4 of the package so it was $1.50 worth of cost. Dinner was $5.80 for hubby and me with left overs the next morning for hubby, and the rice for dinner that night! Talk about frugal!
I am going to make a carrot cake in a little bit. Yes it is from a box just because that is what I have here to use up. I am going to start baking cakes from scratch when all the packages of cake mix are gone. I will shred carrots so the cake is healthier! I am also going to make cheese sticks today, as well as zucchini bread made with yellow squash! I am in a cooking mode in case you could not tell.
I am not sure what I will make for dinner as of yet. It is funny how cooking nice meals at home makes a much happier hubby! He even made French Toast for us all the morning. It was a fair trade being I had the duty of a nasty poopy diaper to change! I think I might just do hotdogs today. It will be simple and easy to do. I can make home made macaroni and cheese to go with it even. Hey I now have dinner planned!
